CHIP STOCKS HIT HARD
U.S. semiconductor stocks are heading for their worst week in over 15 months, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index down 12.5%. Investors are questioning the strength of the AI‑driven rally after China’s Moonshot unveiled a powerful open AI model. Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom all fell sharply, though the chip index remains up more than 60% this year.
