IRAN PUSHES STRAIT OF HORMUZ TOLL PLAN
Iran says it is discussing with Oman the creation of a permanent toll system for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
Tehran argues shipping firms should contribute to security, navigation management, and pollution control costs in the key global trade route. The system does not yet exist, and Oman has not responded to the proposal.
Iran also says traffic has declined due to rising insurance costs but has not stopped.
