Crypto hardware-wallet giant Ledger has been hit with a proposed class action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, with plaintiff Douglas Kim alleging the company failed to adequately protect customers’ personal information and timely disclose a data breach that was later used to impersonate Ledger and induce fraudulent crypto transactions. The complaint also points to Ledger’s 2020 breach affecting roughly 270,000 customers as evidence of longstanding security and disclosure failures.
