TRUMP MOVES TO RESTRICT CANADIAN PRODUCTS FROM U.S. PROCUREMENT
President Donald Trump directed the GSA and USTR to remove Canadian-origin products from federal procurement schedules unless Canada provides greater access to U.S. companies and farmers.
Trump accused Canada of restricting American businesses from government contracts while benefiting from access to the U.S. procurement market.
The affected GSA schedules account for more than $50 billion annually.
Trump framed the move as a push for trade reciprocity, declaring: “No reciprocity, no access.”
