Stripe and Advent Reportedly Offer $53 Billion to Acquire PayPal According to Reuters, Stripe and Advent International have offered to acquire PayPal for $60.50 per share, valuing the payments giant at more than $53 billion. The offer is backed by around $50 billion in committed financing and represents a roughly 28% premium to PayPal's latest closing price. Sources said the parties are aiming to reach an agreement by the end of July, though there is no certainty a deal will be completed. Stripe has increasingly focused on stablecoin infrastructure and crypto payments, while PayPal launched PYUSD in 2023 and has become one of the largest regulated stablecoin issuers.
