Vitalik: Optimistic About the Long-Term Development of Cybersecurity, Expects Bitcoin to Handle Issues Not Requiring Social Consensus Well
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said he is quite optimistic about the long-term development of cybersecurity and expects Bitcoin to handle issues that do not require social consensus well. Network-layer attacks can be addressed by upgrading clients and mining pools, while the probability of hashes or PoW being successfully broken is “tiny.” Therefore, he disagrees with the view that BTC could fall more than 50% over the next two years due to AI undermining its security.
