Bybit CEO Ben: I Don't Buy Companies Blaming Layoffs on AI
In an April 23 interview with When Shift Happens, Bybit CEO Ben Zhou said many companies may simply want to cut jobs and use AI as an excuse, but he does not yet believe AI can replace a large share of the workforce.
Zhou said the real challenge today is measuring AI output: internal spending on large‑model tokens is rising quickly, but the actual efficiency gains are hard to quantify. In his view, AI is more like when companies first adopted Excel – a major change, but how much it will transform each department still needs to be tested.
