Google Bans Prediction Market Extensions From Chrome Web Store Under Updated Policies
Google has updated its Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies to classify prediction markets as prohibited products. Under the new rules, Chrome extensions that facilitate or support real-money trading based on prediction outcomes will no longer be allowed on the Chrome Web Store. The policy update also introduces stricter privacy and data collection requirements and will take effect on August 1, 2026.
