TRUMP CALLS FOR LOWER RATES AFTER JOBS BEAT
President Trump hailed the addition of 162,000 U.S. jobs in August, saying the figure smashed expectations.
He urged the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates, arguing America’s stronger economy deserves the world’s lowest rates.
Trump also threatened to halt trade with countries running surpluses with the U.S., saying this could pressure trading partners while avoiding tariffs.
“High interest rates put the U.S.A. at a very unfair disadvantage,” he said.
