U.S. HOME PRICES PICK UP U.S. home prices rose 0.3% in May, the fastest monthly gain since January, while increasing 2.5% from a year earlier, according to Redfin. The rise was driven by stronger demand in April when mortgage rates briefly declined. Although pending sales have since flattened as rates moved higher, limited inventory is expected to keep supporting home prices.
