Dragonfly’s Haseeb: Annualized DeFi Hack Losses for 2026 Remain Below 2025 Levels Despite AI Threats
Annualized losses from DeFi hacks in 2026 remain below 2025 levels and within the historical range, Dragonfly managing partner Haseeb Qureshi said, arguing that fears of an AI-driven DeFi “hackpocalypse” have not materialized.
Although the number of incidents has risen, the median loss per hack has continued to fall, indicating that attackers are increasingly targeting smaller or abandoned protocols. Losses from admin-key and multisig compromises have also declined, while larger protocols appear more resilient after strengthening their defenses against AI-enabled attacks.
