US TO CUT NATO CRISIS MILITARY SUPPORT The U.S. plans to reduce military assets available to assist European allies in a crisis, including fighter jets, warships, and refueling aircraft, according to a NATO briefing reported by Spiegel. Under the reported changes, U.S. fighter jet support would fall by one-third, bomber availability would be halved, and fewer naval assets would be committed, with submarines no longer provided. Europe would also take on more responsibility for reconnaissance drones.
