EU FACES 1.3 MILLION JOB LOSSES AS ENERGY COSTS SOAR
The EU could lose up to 1.3 million jobs this year as higher energy prices linked to the U.S.-Iran conflict hit industry, Labour Commissioner Roxana Minzatu said. The automotive sector faces the biggest risk, with up to 600,000 jobs threatened. Construction, chemicals, metals, transport, batteries, solar manufacturing and steel could also see significant layoffs.
