Eight compromised security certificates allow attackers to impersonate any website and intercept encrypted traffic on vulnerable systems
The compromised certificates were issued by eMudhra after a security failure left their private keys vulnerable.
Google and Mozilla blocked the affected certificates within hours of being alerted. Cloudflare has also deployed security fixes.
Most Chrome and Firefox users are already protected.
Users should keep their devices and applications updated and never ignore browser security warnings. Older software and systems that do not receive automatic security updates may still be at risk.
