U.S. FIRES ON SHIP BREACHING IRAN BLOCKADE
U.S. forces fired on a Panama-flagged ship Tuesday after it allegedly ignored warnings while attempting to breach the American blockade of Iranian ports.
A U.S. helicopter targeted the vessel’s rudder in the Gulf of Oman, causing a fire that was later extinguished.
Maritime security firm Vanguard identified the ship as the Vela Nova.
No casualties were reported, with all 17 crew members accounted for.
