Coinbase CEO Responds to Criticism Over Betting Promotions in Coinbase App
Zcash founder Zooko criticized Coinbase for allegedly promoting sports betting and Bitcoin price betting products to a young and financially vulnerable user. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong responded that adults should be free to use their money as they choose, but high‑risk products should not be aggressively promoted to unsophisticated users. He said platforms should distinguish between making products available and making them the focus of the app.
