Ethereum Glamsterdam Upgrade Tentatively Set for Sepolia on October 6, Mainnet Date Still Uncertain
According to the ACDC #186 meeting notes, Ethereum developers have tentatively scheduled the Glamsterdam upgrade for activation on Sepolia at 13:53 UTC on October 6. However, the upgrade has not yet been successfully activated on a stable devnet. Devnet‑9 is currently failing to finalize, while earlier testing uncovered a major consensus‑layer bug and an execution‑layer issue related to EIP‑8037, leading developers to prepare Devnet‑10. If Devnet‑10 remains unstable or reveals further major issues, the Sepolia activation could be postponed. Developers have not yet set dates for the Hoodi testnet or mainnet, although they are still targeting a possible mainnet launch in December.
