TheEnergyMag: Public Bitcoin Miners Cut Realized Hashrate by 23% as Capacity Shifts to AI and HPC
TheEnergyMag said public Bitcoin miners have reduced their realized hashrate by 23% as some operators shift infrastructure toward HPC colocation and AI cloud services. Among companies actively retrofitting their operations, revenue from HPC colocation and AI cloud services has surpassed Bitcoin mining revenue. However, cumulative retrofit spending remains roughly 15 times the revenue generated so far. Meanwhile, Bitcoin’s late-August rally and a decline in competing network hashrate have eased pressure on miners operating the most efficient equipment.
