Ethereum Co-founder Joseph: Blockchain tech is the key to solving the US debt crisis
On May 7, 2026, Ethereum co‑founder Joseph Lubin told the When Shift Happens podcast that moving off the gold standard created a loop among corporations, lobbyists, and legislators. This allows governments to print money endlessly and accumulate massive debt, a trend current political systems cannot stop.
He noted that Satoshi’s white paper showed him decentralized trust could fix this. Believing Bitcoin is antifragile, he saw it as a new trust foundation that inspired them to build DeFi.
