DTCC and the Stellar Development Foundation announced plans to enable tokenization of DTC-custodied assets on the Stellar public blockchain, with DTC-tokenized assets expected to be available on Stellar in the first half of 2027.
DTCC received a no-action letter from the U.S. SEC in December 2025 authorizing DTC to implement and operate a service to tokenize real-world assets custodied at DTC.
DTCC and SDF will also evaluate tokenization use cases for eligible assets, including Russell 1000 constituents, ETFs tracking major indices, and U.S. Treasury bills, bonds and notes.
